BlueBlue Gachipop Tulipa 230 Slim Popper
The Gachipop Tulipa 230 is BlueBlue's slim popper taken to its logical conclusion — a vertical-floating 230 mm body that pops and splashes like a popper but hangs in the water like a diving pencil. The trick is a clear cup with a heavily waisted rear (patent pending): the fat part of the cup sits above the surface where fish can't inspect it, so all a tuna sees from below is a clean baitfish silhouette. That waist also grabs water properly, so the lure keeps working instead of skating across the face of a wave when there's cross-wind. Small bore, deep cup — it throws far more spray and pop than 30 mm of body diameter has any right to, and the aerated water dragged off the waist leaves a heavy bubble trail behind it. Leave it sitting and the loose internal weight ball rocks with the swell, knocking out an irregular rattle that keeps fish committed right up to the eat. Through-wire, 90 g, and slim enough to keep casting into a headwind all day.
