Returns Policy

We stand behind everything we sell. If something isn't right, tell us — most problems are sorted in one email.

Faulty, damaged or not as described

You have rights under the Australian Consumer Law that we can't limit and wouldn't want to. If a product fails to be of acceptable quality, isn't fit for purpose, or doesn't match its description, you are entitled to a remedy — a repair, replacement or refund depending on how serious the failure is — and we cover return shipping on faulty goods.

There is no arbitrary time limit on this. A fault that shows up months into normal use is still a fault. What counts is what a reasonable person would expect from the product given its price and how it was used.

Two things do run on a clock, because we have to claim against the carrier:

  • Transit damage — tell us within 14 days of delivery.
  • Wrong item sent — same, within 14 days.

Email info@lurexfishing.com.au with your order number, what's wrong, and clear photos.

Change of mind

We accept change-of-mind returns within 30 days of delivery, provided the item is unused, in its original undamaged packaging, and you have proof of purchase. Return postage on a change-of-mind return is yours to cover. Once it arrives and we've checked it, you get a refund to your original payment method or store credit — your choice — within 5–7 business days.

Some things we can't take back on change of mind: items that have been fished, rigged with hooks or otherwise used; items damaged through misuse or normal wear; and clearance or final-sale items. None of that affects your ACL rights if the item is actually faulty — a used lure that failed is still a warranty claim, not a change-of-mind return.

Our 12-month store warranty

Most of what we sell is a Japanese-market parallel import, which means the manufacturer's Australian warranty generally doesn't apply. So we provide our own: 12 months from purchase, covering manufacturing and material defects, handled by us directly rather than sent overseas. It sits on top of your ACL rights, not instead of them.

Be clear on what it is not. It is a defect warranty, not a breakage warranty. It does not cover impact, high-sticking, loading past the printed ratings, corrosion from not rinsing, normal wear, or consumables. That matters most on rods: nearly every broken rod is damage rather than a fault, and we would rather tell you that up front than at claim time.

If you break a rod, we can still help. We order individual tip, mid or butt sections from the Japanese manufacturer against your exact model code — typically around 30% of the rod's original price, quoted before we order anything — so you replace a section rather than the whole rod. Same for reel parts. Full detail, including the complete list of exclusions, is on the Warranty & Authenticity page.

How to start a return

Email info@lurexfishing.com.au with your order number and what you'd like to happen. We reply within 2 business days with return instructions — don't send anything back before you hear from us.

This page explains how we handle returns. Our formal Refund Policy forms part of our terms of sale. Nothing here limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
