Crono Short Gaff 580 (5.8 m Telescopic Squid Gaff)
Crono call it a “short” gaff because it collapses to 39 cm — extended it is 5.8 metres. That combination is the entire point: it lives clipped to a bag or belt, and it still reaches the water from the high breakwalls and rock ledges where a landing net on a short handle is useless. Crono built the 580 after anglers told them the 400 couldn't reach the surface at their marks. Everything except the length is identical to the 400, so if you already own one there is nothing new to learn.
One-touch buckle and D-loop. The belt releases one-handed, which is what you want at the moment a squid is hanging off the rail. A D-loop is fitted as standard for clipping to a bag or vest. The tip section is orange so you can see where the head is against dark water.
