Daiwa's own line on the AIR series is that the lightness is from another dimension, and after an afternoon of jerking #3.5 you understand the marketing: the fatigue that normally ends a session is simply not there.
The 85MLM・K is the out-guide (K) model — not interline — in ML–M power, which is the do-everything length and taper for Australian calamari: light enough to work a #2.5 over shallow weed, enough butt to punch a #4.0 into a Port Phillip southerly. Rated PE 0.4–1.0.
