The Seadz Varuna J-631 is the compact heavy in that philosophy — 6'3, three pieces, 67.5 cm packed, and rated to throw 80–200 g. Those numbers do not normally go together. A four-axis carbon blank carries the load without the twist a conventional layup gives you when you cast sidearm or backhand off a boat deck, and titanium-framed K guides shed line properly on a heavy overhead. At 130 g with a 54.5 cm grip it is built to be fished one-handed from a moving boat, and it packs down to hand-luggage length. If you fly to your fishing — Weipa, Exmouth, PNG — this is the rod that goes in the bag.
