The tip section is solid carbon rather than tubular, which is the reason to own it: at 0.8 mm it registers the short, sharp knocks of small stream fish and the change in load when something chases and turns away, all through your hand rather than your eyes. The taper is cut to place a small lure accurately under overhanging cover and to keep it controlled in moving water, and there is enough butt in reserve for the fish that turns out to be much bigger than expected. Spinners, spoons and hard-pulling small plugs all load it properly. 62 g, up to 3.5 g, 4 lb.
