Amorous Joint is Daiwa's jointed egi, and the joint is the whole argument. A rigid egi holds its posture on the fall; this one flexes, so the body shivers and rolls on the pause instead of hanging dead. That extra movement at the exact moment a squid decides is what converts the ones that follow but won't commit. The 2.5 is the small size — shallow water, clear conditions, pressured ground, and the smaller autumn squid that ignore a #3.5.
Vertical joint
The joint runs vertically rather than side to side, which is what produces the “dolphin” motion Daiwa built this around — a nose-down roll on the drop that no rigid egi can copy. It is the movement that reaches squid which have already refused everything else in your box.
Tip-run ready
A dedicated slot takes Daiwa's Kamen Sinker Boat II on a band, so you can add anywhere from 7 g to 40 g without tape or improvising. That turns the same jig into a tip-run egi for boat work — one lure, two completely different techniques.
Stepped kanna
Two rows at different heights in Japanese-made wire. The kanna is the only part of an egi that ever touches a squid, so it is the one component worth paying for.
