The Hi-Power X wrapped blank keeps the rod tracking straight through the whip of a cast and the rip of a jig, so it feels tighter than its price suggests. Rated for #1.8–3.8 jigs, it covers the standard 2.5–3.5 sizes used for southern calamari with room either side, and the ML tip loads up nicely on gentle whips over shallow weed. A sensible first dedicated egi rod that won't need upgrading in a hurry.
