At 7'6" and just 96 g it is built for run-and-gun work along low rock ledges and breakwalls, and for casting-style boat eging, where a long rod gets in the way. ML+ power gives it the backbone for spring calamari, yet Shimano instructor Masataka Yukawa points out it stays soft enough that #3.0 and smaller egi never feel overpowered, a sweet spot for Port Phillip, Western Port and the SA gulf reefs.
